Started in 2008, Mobile Excursions works with worldwide partner attractions to deliver high quality entertainment and educational experiences for their patrons on mobile phones like the iPhone.
Mobile Excursions, LLC was founded and is managed by Dan Shropshire. Dan has nearly 20 years of engineering and management experience in software design and development having worked for several large aerospace companies, the Smithsonian, and NASA. Dan has managed the successful development and deployment of multiple software projects including several still in use on NASA's Chandra X-Ray Observatory. An avid traveler, Dan saw a critical need, and real opportunity, to improve the customer experience at travel destinations throughout the world via the use of personal mobile devices. He founded Mobile Excursions with the sole intent of creating exciting interactive travel applications to achieve this goal.
Nate Belden joined Mobile Excursions in early 2009 as Chief Financial Officer and advisor. Nate brings nearly 20 years of experience in the financial sector to the company having most recently worked for American Industrial Partners in San Francisco. Also an avid traveler, Nate believes that the mobile experience can transform the way that businesses and clients interact in a way that is beneficial to both parties.
Donna McGee also joined Mobile Excursions in early 2009 as a human resources expert and advisor. Donna spent nearly 40 years in HR having served in positions with the Massachusetts State government and Harvard University. Donna sees the advent of hand held mobile tours to be a vast improvement over what has been done before. She recognizes the great opportunities that await those institutions ready to embrace this fundamental change in business.
